The article is dedicated to the problem of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) in modern methodical scientific literature native foreign scholars. notion CLIL explained, advantages presented methodology are pointed out. Special attention paid choosing types activities for teaching English 1st year students at higher educational establishments Ukraine which encourage studying a language, help develop creative mental abilities learners, purposeful mastering lexical units. importance give opportunities learners acquire knowledge other subjects they will use their future professional activity.
